“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”    -Acts 1:8

“So, what are your plans for after you graduate?” This question is something that every high school senior is asked almost daily. It is also something I’ve been asking God almost daily for the past few years. College is something I’ve looked forward to and worked towards for a long time now, especially as I’ve seen both my siblings have amazing college experiences. And yet, there’s always been this nagging little voice in my head saying “maybe college can wait a year”.

So, after a lot of prayer, I had felt called to take a gap year, and live out the truth of Acts 1:8. I have always felt closest in my walk with the Lord when I am serving, so it made sense why He would call me into such an opportunity as this. Starting in September, I will be spending the following 9 months working alongside other people my age to help and grow Christian ministries in Costa Rica, Romania, Eswatini, and South Africa and to spread God’s love to the ends of the earth.

I’m going to need so much support during this journey, and I’m so blessed to be a part of such an amazingly supportive home community. I am so thankful for all the people who have been praying for me during this process, and those who will continue to pray while I’m on the trip. So buckle up, because this is going to be one epic ride!
